Phillips Put On Most Wanted List as Search Continues

Ralph “Bucky” Phillips was added to the US Marshals 15 Most Wanted list today — and the case will receive national attention on Saturday’s “America’s Most Wanted” here on Fox 23.

At the same time, local folks are pitching in to help the family of state trooper Joseph Longobardo, whom investigators believe was shot and killed by Ralph “Bucky” Phillips.

The State Trooper Foundation has set up a fund for Joseph Longobardo’s widow and 1-year old son, and another fund to help defray Donald Baker, Jr’s medical costs.

Pakistan hands over list of 66 most wanted human traffickers to Turkey, Iran, Greece

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has handed over the list of 66 most wanted smugglers involved in human trafficking to Turkey, Iran and Greece.

This was said by director general FIA Tariq Pervaiz while talking to the journalists on conclusion of 2-day meeting of joint working group comprising the representatives from Pakistan, Turkey, Iran and Greece. The group is aimed at taking joint measures for prevention of human trafficking.

Tariq Pervaiz said the four countries will enhance mutual cooperation on prevention of heinous crimes and human smuggling. Legislation will also be enacted to curb the menace of human trafficking. The four countries have also agreed to gear up the pace of patrolling in border areas.

It has also been decided in two days meeting if any human trafficker is arrested in any member country, he will be handed over to the respective country within forty days after preliminary investigation, DG, FIA told.

Giving further details of meeting, he informed that the four countries will evolve a regular system of exchange of information related to prevention of human smuggling and elimination of organized crimes under which they will exchange information among them on this count. Focal persons have also been appointed in this connection and the four countries have given the names of their respective focal persons.

Pakistan has provided list of 66 most wanted human traffickers to Iran, Turkey and Greece and these countries will also furnish a similar list of most wanted human smugglers to Pakistan.

The next meeting of joint working group will take place in May next year in Tehran and a ministerial level meeting will be held on December 15 and 16 in Turkey.

He told Afghanistan will also attend the next meeting. Border security will also be strengthened so that the offenders are apprehended.

Trail For Indonesia’s Most-wanted Terror Suspect Turns Cold

Tips on the whereabouts of Indonesia’s most-wanted terrorist suspect launched a new manhunt in East Java, but the trail went cold for the Malaysian accused of masterminding a string of bombings across Indonesia, a senior police official said Monday.

The national police chief, General Sutanto, told a parliament hearing that the new manhunt for Noordin Mohammed Top was being conducted in the province by the US-supported Detachment 88 anti-terrorism task force and regional police units.

It began more than a month ago in the East Java district of Mojokerto after police received tips from local residents that the Islamic militant might have been among a group of men hiding in the Mount Welirang area, Sutanto said.

Police believe they have 10 Most Wanted fugitive cornered

CARROLL, N.Y. (AP) — Police who are looking for fugitive Bucky Phillips near the New York-Pennsylvania border say they think they have him trapped. And they believe he was involved in a confrontation with a state trooper earlier today.

New York State Police Superintendent Wayne Bennett says the officer came across a man believed to be Phillips — an escapee who’s suspected of killing one state trooper and wounding two others.

JEFFERSON COUNTY - Timmy Shaw has been on Colorado’s Most Wanted list for the better part of a year, and now law enforcement agencies are asking for the public’s help again.

Shaw was found guilty of 17 counts of aggravated incest and nine counts of sexual assault on a child. After he was found guilty he was allowed to stay out on bond.

Shaw failed to show up for sentencing. Shaw is known to work around greyhound racing and training operations. He may be using another name and is most likely still working around greyhounds.

FBI fugitive Bulger has 77th birthday

BOSTON, Sept. 3 (UPI) — The former boss of Boston’s Irish crime syndicate and the FBI’s No. 2 Most Wanted fugitive, James “Whitey” Bulger, marked his 77th birthday Sunday.

Ranking behind only Osama Bin Laden on the most wanted list, the fugitive serial killer turned 77, prompting many to wonder what the alleged killer of 18 is doing now, the Boston Herald reported.

“He could be unbelievably spontaneously vicious,” said author Phillip Carlo. “I think at 77 he’s just as dangerous, but he’s less apt to lose his temper.”

Bulger fled Boston years ago after being tipped by the FBI that he was going to be charged with racketeering and face a grand jury indictment.

In 2006, the FBI investigated alleged sightings of Bulger in 19 countries — but the $1 million bounty for his capture has not been claimed and Carlo said it likely never will be.

“Most guys on the lam get caught because they’ve got to keep going back to the neighborhood,” the author told the Herald. “Whitey has an international look on the world. He’s not only alive, he’s enjoying his life. When you’re content inside, that’s the best fountain of youth there is. And I think he’s very content.”

I’ve profiled this guy on my blog so many times I can’t count. I even profiled him when I ran the actual newspaper, Most Wanted. You’d think he would be courteous enough to let some other crook have a chance at being in the top 10.

Man Near Top of Most-Wanted List Is Captured

One of the F.B.I.’s most wanted fugitives, Warren Steed Jeffs, the leader of an offshoot Mormon sect who was wanted for sexual offenses, was captured in the Las Vegas area after a highway patrolman stopped the vehicle he was in during a routine traffic check.
