SOLOMON Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare plans to bombard Australian prosecutors with 666 questions about their case against wanted Australian lawyer Julian Moti.
Mr Sogavare accuses Australia of a “malicious conspiracy to indict an innocent” Mr Moti, who is wanted in Australia on child sex charges but who has nevertheless been appointed the Solomons’ attorney-general.
Mr Moti sat in the Solomons parliament as attorney-general for the first time today as the opposition unsuccessfully challenged his right to be there.
Mr Sogavare has defied Australia by appointing Mr Moti attorney-general after the lawyer escaped extradition from Papua New Guinea.
I guess having an alleged child molestor as Attorney General doesn’t bother the Prime Minister.
It was not immediately clear why Mr Sogavare’s questions numbered 666, which in some biblical references is known as the number of the beast.
